The city's education workforce came together to celebrate two decades of service at an awards ceremony held at Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday 26 June 2024. 87 people from primary, secondary and special schools were put forward by their peers to attend an afternoon tea and trophy giving in recognition of their achievements.

A 'dynamic duo' of schools hosted a special hamper giving ceremony in recognition of their staff going above and beyond for families. Cliffdale Primary Academy and Copner Primary Academy were chosen by sponsors to receive their hamper in person with council leaders also in attendance.

This year, Teach Portsmouth is celebrating long service to education by inviting school staff who have worked for 20 years or more in the city to a special event.

Senior staff in primary, secondary and specialist schools put forward teachers, teaching assistants and head teachers, to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at Portsmouth Guildhall and be presented with a trophy and certificate for this career milestone.

Families across Portsmouth are continuing to recognise the school superheroes who go above and beyond for the city's children and young people. We've reached an incredible milestone in our thank a school superhero initiative and have now received over 500 messages!

After the success of last year's event, the Teach Portsmouth Jobs and Opportunities Fair returned to Guildhall on Monday 26 February 2024. More than 300 people were welcomed through the big bronze doors to discover careers in the classroom. 

It has been fantastic to see so many diverse shoutouts for our school staff across the city over the last few weeks. We have had an astounding number of messages for the thank a superhero campaign. Meet Louise, who is a teacher at the Mary Rose School. She is another school superhero who has been recognised by a colleague in the city.
