What is Teach Portsmouth?

Teach Portsmouth is a key component of the work of the Portsmouth Education Partnership, where education partners working together to provide the best possible education for all pupils across the city. The Portsmouth Education Partnership has a wide membership and sets the education priorities for the city.

One priority is to recruit, retain and grow the best teachers and leaders for the city and to make Portsmouth the place of choice for the very best senior leaders, teachers and other education staff.

There is a positive, supportive environment for teachers in Portsmouth. As well as being a great waterfront city, Portsmouth has a clear focus on addressing key national education issues like teacher workload, flexible working for teacher and ensuring that teachers can feel fulfilled and supported in their schools. Through the Portsmouth Education Partnership, schools work collaboratively to share good practice and support progression. The Training section outlines how NQTs are supported.
