Teach Portsmouth Jobs and Opportunities Fair 2024

HSDC has long supported the work of Teach Portsmouth, through sponsoring an award category and exhibiting at recruitment events.

This year, they became headline sponsor of the Teach Portsmouth Jobs and Opportunities Fair, the city's largest recruitment event dedicated to jobs and training in education. The event took place at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Richard Barlow, deputy principal at HSDC spoke about the partnership

" We're really pleased to be supporting the Teach Portsmouth Jobs and Opportunities Fair as the headline sponsor. This reaffirms our commitment to helping schools recruit the very best people they need to thrive.
" We know that having the right professionals for any child or young person, can improve their life chances. We are unwavering in this belief and look forward to meeting people who are looking to start a career in the classroom."

Celebrating long service to education

University of Chichester Academy Trust and Salterns Academy Trust are co-sponsors of Teach Portsmouth's long service to education event at Portsmouth Guildhall in June.

The event recognises staff in the city's schools who have worked in Portsmouth for 20 years or more. Attendees will enjoy an afternoon tea and attend a special trophy giving ceremony.

Nys Hardingham, CEO of Salterns Academy Trust said:

" We're thrilled to be able to support Teach Portsmouth once more in their celebration of long service to education. This is an opportunity for us all to come together and applaud those who have worked tirelessly for the city's children, young people and families for 20 years or more.
" This is a huge achievement and one that should not be underestimated. We want those who have experience to stay working in our schools to support the next generation of thinkers and doers. This event is one way we can do that as a community."

Jennese Alozie, CEO of the University of Chichester Academy Trust said:

"The University of Chichester Academy Trust is proud to co-sponsor the Teach Portsmouth long service to education event, recognising an all-important milestone in the career of school staff.

"This event celebrates the achievements of individuals who have given their lives to Portsmouth for two decades or more. I would like to congratulate all those who have been put forward for an award."

Thank a school superhero

Caterlink and Solent Academies Trust are co-sponsors of Teach Portsmouth's thank a school superhero initiative. Their sponsorship has helped fund hampers for 62 primary, secondary and specialist schools across the city.

Families across Portsmouth thanked their school superheroes in January by sending special messages through the Teach Portsmouth website. Thank you messages will be printed on to posters and placed inside each hamper.

Dawn Spreadbury, operations manager at Caterlink said:

" Caterlink has long supported Teach Portsmouth by attending recruitment events and sponsoring the Teach Portsmouth Awards.
" School staff deserve recognition for what they do and we felt the school superhero initiative perfectly captures that. We would like to thank everyone in schools who support pupils in different ways. We are proud to sponsor this activity."

Sharon Burt, Chief Executive Officer from Solent Academies Trust said:

" "We are pleased to be able to sponsor such a worthwhile initiative that recognises the hard work and dedication of school staff across the city."
